Personal Resources
Identify and utilize your personal network of family, friends, neighbors, local merchants, coaches, the clergy and health professionals. Get your name and resume out there!
Pass out your personal business card with contact information on one side and bulleted skills and qualifications on the other.
Join student organizations, become active and seek leadership positions.
Get to know faculty and staff members and ask them for advice.
Get in touch with young alumni or past interns for personal insights into their employers.
Identify and work with a mentor - a professor, work supervisor, neighbor, or relative.

Professional Resources
Join professional associations related to your major or fields of interest.
Utilize the Rutgers Alumni Career Network to make contact with alumni by major or industry. Set up informational interviews with alumni.
Attend employer information sessions, career days, employer resume critique sessions, and off-campus employer programs.
Attend a professional conference and talk to people in your area of interest.

Pursue high-visibility part-time jobs, bringing you into contact with executives in establishments such as country clubs or restaurants.
