David Bills, Assistant Director
Dave specializes in counseling creative and liberal arts students on major and career choice and internship and job searching in the arts, entertainment, non-profit, and education, and assessing personality style using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). He is also an Instructor for the SAS Internship Course. He has a master’s in counseling psychology and a bachelor’s in psychology, both from Rutgers. Before joining Career Services in 2001, Dave was a counselor at the Rutgers-Newark Career Development Center. Tina joined Career Services in 2003. She has a B.A. in sociology and education from LaSalle University and a M.Ed. in instructional design training and development from Penn State University. Tina enjoys counseling and delivering workshops for students and alumni on all aspects of their career development, including academic and career decisions, internship and job hunting and graduate school planning. Tina serves as the liaison to the Graduate School of Education, Educational Opportunity Fund and foreign language departments. She has special interest in working with liberal arts students, students of color, and students that are undecided about their major and career. Her favorite career-related quote is “Find a job you love and you and you’ll never work a day in your life” -- this is her hope for the students at Rutgers! | | Monica Bryant, Assistant Director
Monica Bryant began working with Career Services in 1987. She provides career counseling, as well as various workshops related to deciding a major or career, applying for federal government internships and jobs, planning an international/global career, internship, or short-term work, and preparing for graduate school. Monica’s experiences associated with academic and career planning and development have been in various roles both in community college and university-settings. She possesses a B.A. in psychology from Rutgers, M.A. in human development from Fairleigh Dickinson University and an A.B.D. in organizational systems. She has found that her values, education, and work experiences are interrelated, which brings meaning to her work with students, employers, and the university community. Monica’s areas of expertise include counseling liberal arts, transfer, students of color, BSW/MSW students and alumni, and preparing individuals for opportunities with the federal government and non-profit. Also, she has a strong interest in professional and organizational development and transformation, especially related to workplace diversity. | | Sylvia D. Cordero, Assistant Director
Sylvia has been with Career Services since 1991. She also worked at Rutgers-Newark from 1988-1991. She has a B.A. in social sciences and labor relations from the University of Puerto Rico and a M.A. in labor studies from Rutgers. Prior to Rutgers, Sylvia worked for Middlesex County College, Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital, Woodbridge Development Center, and several labor unions. Her areas of expertise include career assessment, students of color, international students, and computer graphics. | | Larry Jacobs, Assistant Director
Larry joined Career Services in 2001. He also teaches as an adjunct professor of psychology at Rutgers, Montclair State, and MCC. He has an ED.S., Educational Specialist, and an M.S. in psychological counseling from SUNY-Albany, in addition to a B.A. in political science from CW Post College. Larry's specialties include conducting outreach; counseling students on motivation, self-esteem, and networking techniques; career planning; internship and job search strategies. Larry coordinated major conferences open to the public for disability awareness, and for veterans’ transition, the Graduate School Expo, and assisted in all of the Rutgers Career Days, in addition to the World of Work bus/train trips for students to companies such as Toys R Us, FBI, Prudential. He is the liaison to all of SEBS and to the Bloustein School, and created the Resume Critique Days for them. He serves as a faculty mentor to the SAS Honors Program. He believes you can imagine, aspire, and succeed, and you will!

Scott began working with Career Services in 1992. He has a B.S. in business administration from Monmouth University and a M.A. in counseling and personnel services from Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey). He spent six years in the brokerage industry with Shearson Lehman Hutton in New York City. Scott has taught career counseling and vocational psychology as an adjunct instructor at Rutgers and The College of New Jersey. He is also a partner in a private firm, Career Planning Concepts, located in Princeton, New Jersey. Scott is a licensed professional counselor, a national certified counselor, and a national certified career counselor. His areas of expertise include careers in business and finance, college readiness, psychological testing and assessment, re-careering and career transition, self-esteem building, and student retention. | | Doug Ricci, Career Counselor
Doug began working with Career Services since 1992. He is a licensed professional counselor in the State of New Jersey, a national certified counselor, and a national certified career counselor. Doug has a B.S. in life sciences from New York Institute of Technology and a M.A. in counseling and personnel services The College of New Jersey. Doug is a partner in a private career counselor practice, Career Planning Concepts, located in Princeton, New Jersey. He has taught career counseling and vocational psychology at the graduate level as an adjunct instructor at The College of New Jersey. His areas of expertise include business and entrepreneurial careers, adults in career transition, pre-medical advising and counseling, and career testing and assessment. | | Linda Bagen, Career Services Assistant Linda has been with Career Services since 2001. She has a B.A. in labor studies from Rutgers. She is responsible for assisting students with their inquiries, supervising work-study students, and handling administrative functions of the office. | |
