MISSION STATEMENT

The basic mission of the Office of Career Services at Rutgers University-New Brunswick is to prepare students for meaningful careers. This is part of the "service" mission of Rutgers University. We strive to accomplish our mission by providing programs and services and building partnerships with our major constituents: undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, administrators, faculty members, and employers. We also provide selected services for the residents of New Jersey, other states and countries.

Specifically, our mission is to:

  1. Assist students and alumni with their academic and career interests, short- and long-term career goals,
job and internship strategies, and admission to graduate school through individual counseling, group
    seminars, and special programs.
  2. Work with academic deans, faculty members, and administrators to connect students' academic
programs to employment and graduate school opportunities.
  3. Assist employers with the achievement of their employment goals through the hiring of Rutgers
students and alumni and the increase of employer visibility on campus.
  4. Serve the residents of New Jersey through statewide career fairs, the Career Services website and
    other services.
