Electronic Resume Action Plan

Introduction
The computer age has brought about a new set of standards and guidelines for writing your resume. More and more companies are reviewing resumes online and scanning them into their applicant tracking systems. As a result, you should develop an "electronic" resume to maximize your exposure and take full advantage of the Internet as a job search tool.
Electronic resumes are stripped down, plain text versions of your resume, designed to be sent to employers via e-mail.
Basic Tips for Writing Your Electronic Resume
Don't use tabs, bullets, italics or underlining.
Limit each line to 65 characters-including spaces and commas.
Left justify your electronic resume.
Keep your resume in plain text (courier is recommended); remember-you don't have a choice of font on the receiving end.
Use asterisks instead of bullets.

Create your electronic resume in Notepad; this will enable you to copy and paste your resume onto the Internet and send it via e-mail.
